- Actively promote the bicycle as a means of recreation, transportation, and staying fit.

- Uphold and support the rights of cyclists.

- Encourage the developement and maintenance of bike paths and other cycling facilities.

- Disseminate information on cycling safety.

The PBA is affiliated with The League of American Bicyclists (LAB), the national organization of bicyclists. The club also shares activities and routes with other neighboring clubs.

The PBA offers rides, both road and off-road, in Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, York County, James City County, and off the Peninsula in areas such as Smithfield, Surry, Isle of Wight County, Gloucester and Mathews. The rides range from slow, short and easy with lots of stops, to long, fast-paced rides recommended only for the well-conditioned, experienced cyclist. In other words, there is something for everyone.

PBA meetings are held each month and are open to interested non-members. Call for time and location. the club’s monthly newsletter, the Chainstay, is mailed to all members. The newsletter gives the location and program for each meeting, announces all scheduled rides, and has articles of interest to cyclists.

Members of the PBA receive discounts of 10% on merchandise at most local bicycle shops.

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and join us on any of our rides.
